It was on 29 March 2004 that Virender Sehwag became the first Indian to score a triple century in the longest format of the game. He scored against Pakistan in Multan. In the match, India elected to bat first and ended the first day of the Test at 356/2 with Sehwag unbeaten on 228. On the second day of the match, Sehwag continued his triple century registration and surprisingly, he hit a six on 295 off the bowling of Saqlain Mushtaq.
Sehwag also recorded the highest score by an Indian batsman against Pakistan. Sanjay Manjrekar previously held the record of 218 in Lahore in 1989. Sehwag was brought back to the pavilion by Mohammed Sam after 309 and that helped India to a comfortable win.

Sehwag reached his career-best 309 runs on the third day of the match and added ten more runs on the fourth day. His personal score reaches 319.
Apart from Sehwag, Karun Nair is the only Indian batsman to score three centuries. He scored against England in Chennai in 2016. (ANI)

The last two years in Test cricket have been a struggle for David Warner, but as he approaches 100 Tests, his work remains impressive. Some great performances come to mind 123* v New Zealand, Hobart 2011 Any doubts Warner had as a Test player disappeared on his second tour when he almost single-handedly prevented Australia from losing to New Zealand in Hobart. He couldn’t avoid it, but New Zealand would have done it more easily on an unbeaten 123 on the green top in Warner’s stunning fourth-innings chase. Dean Brownlee and Ross Taylor during the first three innings of the match. Only batsman to cross 50. Australia were chasing 241 to win, and Doug Bracewell was watching from behind as he broke through the Australian line to leave them at 199 for 9 before Warner took them to 159 for 2. first
