A number of cricket matches and series have been postponed over the past 10 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, however, Kohli’s team plan to play non-stop for nearly the next 15 months ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022, according to News18.
The decision was confirmed by the International Cricket Board (ICC) after announcing in July 2020 that the men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled for October-November 2020 in Australia, would be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Postponed to October-November 2022, the final will be held on 13 November 2022 (Sunday).
Australia’s decision to host in 2022 means that the ICC India Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will go ahead as scheduled within the agreed window from 17 October to 14 November 2021.
BCCI previously announced that the Indian cricket team was awarded Rs 5 million after Ajinkya Rahane’s team won their fourth and final match against Australia to win the series 2-1 and retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday (21 January) released the full schedule for this year’s men’s T20 World Cup which will be held in Australia. Defending champion and host Australia Aaron Finch will start his Super 12 with a corner against eventual runner-up New Zealand Kane Williamson at the Sydney Cricket Ground SCG.
India, after a disappointing showing in the T20 WC 2021, will start the clash against Babar Azam-led Pakistan. The Greens will also play their first game against their fierce rivals at the iconic MCG on October 23.
Countries like Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan are in Group 1, while India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa are in Group 2. The two teams will join the two groups of qualifiers and the same will happen in 2021.
The qualifiers (consisting of eight teams) will begin on October 16, while the main draw for the exhibition matches is scheduled to begin on October 22. For the uninitiated, one-time champions Sri Lanka and two-time champions West Indies will play in the qualifiers and the top four will play in the main draw (two from each group).
